Information we collect

Information you give us

• Account information: your name and email address when you create an account.
• Onboarding responses: answers you provide about your chess experience and how you make decisions, which we use to personalize your training.

Information created as you use the Service

• Gameplay and training data: the games you play, the moves you make, puzzles and lessons you complete, and the results and timing of your decisions. This is the core of what the app analyzes to give you feedback.
• Decision profile: the insights we derive from your gameplay about your decision-making patterns over time.

Information collected automatically

• Diagnostic and crash data: if the app crashes or hits an error, we collect technical information (such as device type, operating system, and the error itself) through our error-monitoring provider so we can fix problems.
• Device push token: if you enable notifications, we store a token that lets us send you push notifications.

We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photos, or payment information, and we do not use tracking for third-party advertising.

How we use your information

• To create and manage your account and let you sign in.
• To run the core features of the app: playing games, generating post-game analysis, and building your decision profile.
• To personalize your training to your level and patterns.
• To send you notifications you have enabled (such as training reminders).
• To diagnose and fix crashes and technical problems.
• To communicate with you about your account or the Service.

How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

• Service providers who help us operate the Service — for example, our cloud hosting, database, authentication (Google Firebase), and error-monitoring providers — and only so they can perform services for us.
• AI processing: portions of your gameplay data may be processed by a third-party AI provider to generate written coaching analysis. This data is used only to produce your feedback and is not used to train third-party models.
• Legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or of Poison Pawn.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (available in the app under Settings → Delete account), we delete or de-identify your personal information, except where we must retain it for legal or legitimate business reasons.

Your choices and rights

• Access and correction: you can view and update your account details in the app.
• Deletion: you can delete your account at any time from within the app, which removes your personal data as described above.
• Notifications: you can turn push notifications on or off in the app or in your device settings.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data (such as the right to access, correct, or delete it, or to object to certain processing). To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) between the app and our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may also be communicated in the app.
